“The Ultimate Middle Years Giveaway and Blog Hop” has Arrived!

By Innovative Connections and Lessons from the Middle!I am SO excited to announce “The Ultimate Middle Years Giveaway and Blog Hop”. This event has been designed with you amazing middle school teachers in mind, by myself and partner in crime Ann Marie Smith author of Innovative Connections. If you haven’t visited Ann Marie’s blog, go, visit, follow! Her writing style is very accessible and a pleasure to read. You’ll want to check out her “Freebies” page, as well as the ”Innovative” teachers that she so graciously spotlights. She’s also got TONS of resources for you to browse, in her TPT Store

We’ve worked really hard to create an awesome giveaway and blog hop aimed just at middle school teachers, so you’re in luck. Of course we couldn’t have done it alone! We have 30 fantastic teacher-bloggers helping us with this event. They’ve donated products and shopping sprees in their stores, and have come together to create our blog hop challenge. All for you! So let’s get right to it.

The Giveaway

We have $300 worth of prizes to be won thanks to the generosity of everyone involved in this event. That’s simply amazing to me. These products and shopping sprees have been split into three prize packages for three lucky winners. One of these three winners will receive the “grand prize” which contains about $125 worth of resources and shopping sprees. Someone has to win. Why not you? Check out the list below of all the prizes that have been donated. You’ll find the Rafflecopter widget at the bottom of this post to enter the giveaway. Lots of different ways to enter and more entries mean more chances to win!

This giveaway and blog hop event runs August 25th-27th, ending at 12:00 am EST.

The Blog Hop Challenge

We could have just given you the chance to win prizes – that alone would be pretty fantastic. However, because middle school teachers are so special – we’ve decided to do just a little bit more for you.

There are 24 bloggers involved (plus Ann Marie and I) in this blog hop challenge. Each blogger is highlighting another in the hop. For each blog, there is one question to answer on the form below. Answer the questions on the form correctly (might as well follow the blogs while you’re there) and you’ll be rewarded – big time!

Our oh-so-generous teacher-bloggers have donated a truck-load of goodies to go to EVERYONE who successfully completes the blog hop! A great way to start off the new school year, wouldn’t you say? I’m not going to list everything that’s included in the package – but let’s just say that there’s something for everyone. Perhaps even better than these resources, is the collection of blogs that you’ll create for yourself, at your grade level, to refer to and benefit from all year long!

At the bottom of this post, you’ll find the collection of the blogs that are participating in the blog hop, as well as the entry form.

  1. I love my CRICUT for cutting out letters and such. I have to take that thing to school with me on the first work day and it gets a lot of use from other teachers as well. The only downside is having all of the extra company in my room and not getting as much work accomplished as I would like each day.

  2. Like above, I absolutely LOVE my Cricut. It’s super helpful and makes the work load on myself a lot easier. It does get expensive, though. But, I enjoy it nonetheless.

  3. Right now, my favorite tool is my organization crate. Not sure if it’s a tool but it is definitely keeping me organized. Basically, it helps me with all the extra worksheets and papers I give my students.

  4. Elizabeth "Tish" Mency

My favorite tool is my elmo document camera. My students and I use it EVERY day for both math and science lessons.

  5. My favorite tool has become my Promethean Interactive Whiteboard. I did not love it at first, and it takes an entire wall so there goes bulletin board space….but I have taken a number of classes over the past year and summer and I now officially like it. :)

  6. My favorite tool is….my Promethean board. The kids like to use it and it gets them excited about the subject! Plus there are tons of resources to go with it!

  7. Michelle Stockert

My favorite tool is a new laptop. It has made life so much easier!

  8. My favorite tool is my iPad. It has opened up a new world of teaching for me!

  9. My favorite tools are all the technology I have in my classroom. Especially the iPads and iPods!

  10. I am completely in love with my new Purple Cows laminator! I’m making things just so I can laminate them.

  11. This is going to seem totally weird…but I LOVE my stapler! I bought one of those one-finger touch jobs that make my life immersed in paperwork (I teach special ed.) so much better! Not to mention when I am creating student books from readinga-z! If I was going to pick a tool for using to teach kids, it would have to be the internet! I have found many great lesson plans and materials to make my teaching better!

  12. I have a super heavy duty hole punch with a pull down handle that I could not live without! It does 40 pages at once and saves me so much time!

  13. My favorite thing I own is my laminator for the weeks leading up to school and the Elmo once school starts.

  14. I simply couldn’t live without my laptop in my classroom. It has proven to be a window to the world allowing us to connect with classes around the world.

  15. What a fun hop! I found some great new upper level blogs to stalk. Thanks! (Or should I say, “Boo! Now I’ll never get that laundry done!”)

  16. I love my document camera. It is the greatest invention ever!!!

  17. I am teaching in Mexico right now and I just wish I had my colour printer! An IWB would be pretty cool too :p

  18. I love my own personal laminating machine, especially since I work with ED students who enjoy ripping up my posters and papers!!!

  19. I love my Elmo, plus I have an Elmo tablet that I use with it. The kids also use it in presentations.

  20. Jessica Gunderson

My favorite tool is my Promethean ActivBoard. I use it each and every day and when it’s not working, I’m COMPLETELY lost! LOVE it!! :)

  21. Love my laminator!

  22. Can’t think of a favorite suppy. But I need to thank your for this giveway not just for the free things, but for the leads on the blogs. One thing I love the most were the leads on pintrest people who post items for middle school. Hope you school year goes well!!!

  23. I love having a laminating machine because I can purchase items from TPT or TN and laminate it so it lasts and looks great.

  24. Melissa Martinez

My favorite teaching supply that I own is my small laminating machine. I love to be able to laminate things I make at home without wasting the laminating film at school.

  25. I can’t live without my own personal laptop! I look forward to getting my new document camera I just ordered!

  26. I cannot live without my SMARTboard and ELMO projector! :)

  27. Isn’t it funny how many of our favorite school supplies will not even function if the power is out for any amount of time? Both a blessing and a curse and definitely a sign of the times that we are currently teaching in! Last year I got a new white board – which was nice:) This will be my first year with a projector in my room 100% of the time – mounted, no less. I am SO excited! It’s going to change the way I teach this year, and that’s an understatement!

    Krystal

  28. My favorite tool is also my cricut. I use it like CRAZY. I use SCAL2 and cut anything and everything I want. I’d be lost (especially this time of year) without it.

  29. My new favorite is my Facebook “Like” stamper. (I have the “Dislike”, too, but I don’t use it unless it’s for a joke…don’t want to hurt any feelings.) This kids absolutely love it and it just puts a smile on my face to use.
