What a Great Day! Flash Giveaway for you!

Well I had a fantastic day with my kiddies today. They finally got their individual novels for their book clubs and everything is humming along smoothly. They are continuing to enjoy our read aloud and are beginning to understand the purpose of a Reader  Response. The highlight? I had a disengaged student who genuinely does not enjoy school, complete the assigned reading and response. He actually asked if he could write “some stuff down” as he was reading! Umm…ya!! You can take some notes if you want. I tried not to look directly at him…I didn’t want to spook him. Anyway, it was a thing of beauty! I take things one day at a time with him, so I know that tomorrow could very likely be a different story. But hey – today was a good day!

On top of that, I introduced a game in math that I created for my students. They LOVED it! They didn’t want to stop playing. The laughs and engagement were genuine. It was so gratifying – totally worth the time it took me to make it. AND it was a practical assessment for me. As I walked around, it was easy to identify who was struggling with the concept and who “got it”.

Because I had such a great day, I’ve decided to spread the joy. I’m having a FLASH GIVEAWAY until tomorrow evening.  As a prize, you can choose any product from my TPT Store! I actually just recently posted a few new products, including the game that my students really enjoyed today, entitled, Mine!

  1. What a great giveaway! And what a fun day! I love those kinds of days! Hope you continue to have them and share your great ideas with the rest of us.

  2. Thanks Krystal. I’m sitting on my computer waiting to see how the OLB rules on the teacher protest tomorrow. Here in Ontario we have to stand up for our rights and say NO to Bill115! My director resigned today in disgrace…I needed something to pick me up! Thanks for letting me be distracted for a few minutes! Happy Weekend!

  3. I think I’m using Teachers Pay Teachers the most and my students are certainly enjoying the results of my purchases, but IXL is a new math site that our school is using and that also has my kiddos pretty excited.

  4. What a wonderful day for you! It is days like that which remind us why we are teachers:)
My favorite math website right now is mathalicious.com. It is correlated with the Common Core and shows how these math topics we teach everyday are useful in real-world situations.

  5. My favorite website for teachers is claco – I love that I can have all my resources in one place and subdivide them how I need to.

  6. I know it isn’t a website, but I love Pinterest. I have found so many creative ideas pinned from other teachers.

  7. I love proteacher. I get the support I need and lots of great ideas! Thanks for the giveaway. :)

  8. My students and I love to use the Buzz Math website – it is a middle school math website and it is fantastic! :) I, personally also love the Inside Mathematics website that offers Problems of the Month for every grade level that are differentiated and recently aligned to Common Core – it is fabulous!!
